Valentine's Day 2002 my husband left me. My life as I knew came to an end. Labels fixed themselves to my heart.
Unlovable
Unworthy
Unwanted
I wonder if that's how the woman at the well felt*. She had held the cup of her heart to man after man. None satisfied. She was unlovable, unworthy and unwanted.
But one day a man went out of His way to pursue her not for what she could give Him but what He could offer her. He offered to fill her cup with all of Himself. He wanted to fill the well of her heart with Living Water.
By Valentine's Day 2006 God had given me a second chance at life and love. That year I opened a letter. It is framed on my bedroom wall.
Part of it reads, "That one kiss changed my life forever. I felt a wonderful glow over my entire body. It was the most amazing kiss of my life and I immediately knew - God has answered my prayers and brought me the women of my dreams."
That letter may have been written by Scott's hand but it was penned by God's unfathomable love. When I was totally alone, God whispered into my heart love, worth and pursuit. He loved me. His love filled my cup and spilled out into the heart of another.
Do you long for love?
Do you wonder if you'll ever feel worthy or wanted?
He is the Bridegroom and He's down on one knee calling your name. Why not give yourself a gift for Valentine's Day and drink a cup of Living Water?
